The smoothie for reduced risk and treatment of Myeloma (Multiple Myenoma)
Yield: 2 serving (about 8 ounce each)
1 1/4 cup grape
1/4 cup carrot
1 cup green tea drink (Make from 4 grams of green tea, a slice of ginger and a cup of hot water lipped for 5 minutes, and let cool to room temperature)

1. Place all ingredients in a blender and puree about 1 minute
2. Blend on high speed about 1 minute or until the mixture is thick and the ice is well crushed. Add more green tea drink if needed
3. Serve immediately

The finding the natural ingredients for treatment of myeloma is considered as a dream of many scientist to replace the long term usage adverse effect of conventional medicine. Unfortunately, many compounds found effective in initial studying failed to confirm the potential in large sample size and multi center.

Multiple myeloma (Myeloma) is a type of cancer originated from plasma cells in the bone marrow. It is a type of white blood cell normally responsible for the production of antibodies to protect our body against infection with some characteristics.

The discovery of ingredients including green tea, may hold an interest key in establishment of a natural formula for reduced risk and treatment of myeonoma, according to the recent reports by some respectable institutions.

Green tea has been a precious drink in traditional Chinese culture and used exceptional in socialization for more than 4000 thousand years. Because of their health benefits, they have been cultivated for commercial purposes all over the world. Its polyphenol epigallocatechin-3-O-gallate (EGCG), inhibited the early onset and progression of myenoma through activation of antibody gene death-associated protein kinase 1 and in regulating normal cellular processes of RTK phosphorylation(1) as well as in promoting regulation of tumor expression of p53-targeting miRNAs in gene expression(2).
Dr. Ren L and research team at the Chonnam National University said," In IM9 multiple myeloma cells, EGCG acted in a dose- and time-dependent manner to induce apoptotic cell death. Among the antioxidant enzymes expressed in IM9 cells, levels of peroxiredoxin V (PrdxV) were selectively and significantly reduced by EGCG."(3).

Resveratrol, polyphenols found abundantly in grape, which is a woody vines of the genus Vitis, belongings to the family Vitaceae, native to southern Turkey, is a phytochemical in the class of Stilbenoids also exhibited anti Myeloma effects(4). According ot he University of Pittsburgh, resveratrol exerts its chemotherapeutic effect on human MM cells through mechanisms involving suppression of of the pro-survival XBP1 signaling in cancer progression(4).

According to CellGen SA. resveratrol (trans-3,4',5-trihydoxystilbene) expessed stronger the antiproliferative and proapoptotic effects against myeloid cell lines through sell cycle pase I and II arrest in comparison with two of its naturally occurring oligomers, epsilon-viniferin (a dimer) and miyabenol C (a trimer)(5).

Dr. Sun CY and the research team at the Huazhong University of Science and Technology, said, " Resveratrol inhibits the proliferation of MM cells by inducing apoptotic cell death. Resveratrol also inhibits MM cell invasion. The inhibition of invasion may be associated with the attenuation of the enzymatic activities of MMP-2 and -9"(6).
Retinoic acid, a metabolite of vitamin A (retinol) found in a measure amount in carrot may also be a potential ingredient in prevention and treatment of Myeloma (Multiple Myenoma). According to the Turku University Central Hospital, all-trans retinoic acid (ATRA) is a derivative of vitamin A. inhibited the growth of human myeloma cell lines through down-regulating pro inflammatory( interleukin-6) receptor(7) and upregulation of CD38 expression, including cell adhesion, signal transduction and calcium signaling(8).

The combination of Green Tea, Grape and Carrot smoothie may hold a key in further studies in production of an effective natural ingredients for prevention and treatment of Myeloma (Multiple Myenoma) without inducing adverse effects.
People who are at higher risk of Myeloma (Multiple Myenoma) due to family history,.......should take at least one serving daily. People with Myeloma (Multiple Myenoma)r should drink as much as they can depending to the digestive toleration.
