The finding the natural ingredients for treatment of  Menstrual Migraines is considered as a dream of many scientist to replace the long term usage adverse effect of conventional medicine.
Unfortunately, many compounds found effective in initial studying failed to confirm the potential in large sample size and multi center.

Menstrual Migraines is a condition of migraine headache occurred on or between 2 days before the onset of menstruation and the first 3 days of bleeding(1) and associated with increased prostaglandin (PG) levels in the endometrium(2).

Recent studies suggested that scientist in some research centers have found the naturally potential ingredients, such as sweet potato(2), and pineapple(3)  for prevention and treatment for Menstrual Migraines.

Dr. Shaik MM, and Dr. Gan SH said, vitamin E (found abundantly in sweet potato)
may be beneficiary for women with menstrual migraine due to it anti prostaglandin (PG) hormone effects(2).
According to Tarbiat Modarres University, in the comparison of the vitamin E and the placebo treatment periods, showed that vitamin E induced significant differences in the pain severity and functional disability scales and symptoms of photophobia, phonophobia, and nausea(3).

Melatonin, found abundantly in pineapple is also associated prevention of  menstrual migraine(4). According to the University of Genoa, levels of Nocturnal urinary melatonin excretion was significantly decreased in women with menstrual migraines throughout an ovarian cycle in compared to healthy controls(5).
Dr. Wetterberg L. said, " Patients with migraine,...........exhibited a decreased amplitude of their diurnal rhythm of melatonin" and "The change in melatonin secretion in human is apparently controlled by a mechanism which is at least party influenced by environmental lighting conditions, drugs and different disease states"(6).

The combination of Sweet potato and Pineapple smoothie may hold a key in further studies in production of an effective natural ingredients for prevention and treatment of Menstrual Migraines without inducing adverse effects.

Women who are at higher risk of Menstrual Migraines due to family history, obesity,...should take at least one serving daily. Women with Menstrual Migraines should drink as much as they can depending to the digestive toleration.
