All About Vitamins: Vitamin B6(pyridoxine), the Best in Prevented Hair Loss

By Kyle J. Norton.

Administrated vitamin B6 may have a strong impact in prevented hair loss, a respectable institute study suggested

Vitamin B6, also known as pyridoxine, is a water soluble vitamin found abundantly in green peas, yams, broccoli, asparagus and turnip greens,Peanuts, sunflower seeds, cashews and hazelnuts, meat, fish etc., with functions of amino acid, carbohydrate metabolism, brain health, and liver detoxification, etc.

Androgenic alopecia hair loss are caused by shrieked the follicles in inducing hair thins and hair receding at the forehead, crown and temple for men and thins over the entire scalp for women.

According to the joint study led by the University of Genova, injection of vitamin B6 (pyridoxine) of 160 or 80 mg/kg body weight/day) used conjunction with chemopreventive treatment against adverse effect caused by doxorubicin in treatment of various types of cancer expressed a significant reduced hair loss in C57BL/6 mice.

In the study of C57BL/6 mice exposed whole-body to environmental cigarette smoke in a smoking machine, assigned to groups received in the diet, at three dose levels, a mixture of L-cystine with vitamin B6 after 6 months of experiment, researchers found that L-Cystine/vitamin B6 treated group displayed a strong effect in inhibited alopecia in a dose-dependent manner.

However, the study also indicated that micronucleated erythrocytes as an Index of Cytogenetic Damage if frequently increased due to continuous exposure ECS may negate treatment with L-cystine/vitamin B6. ECS-induced alopecia and promoted apoptosis of hair bulb cells.

Additionally, in a clinical and trichological examination (trichogram and hair loss evaluation) conducted comparatively before and after the treatment in 46 women between pubescence and 30 years of age with symptoms of diffuse alopecia, given the following adminitration
1. Calcium pantothenate twice a day orally in doses 100 mg for 4-5 months.
2. Vitamin B6 was injected every day (i ampoule intramusculary) for the period of 20 to 30 days and repeated again after 6 month.
researchers at the Katedry i Kliniki Dermatologii Slaskiej Akademii Medycznej w Katowicach reported the results as follows
1. Vitamin B6 administered parenterally expressed a significant improvement in the hair condition in a number of women for a period of several weeks.
2. Vitamin B6 group also reduced the hair loss especially in alopecia of telogenic patomechanism in compared to calcium group

Taking together, there is no doubt that vitamin B6 is effective in reduced hair loss used in conjunction of chemo medicine and alone. high dose of intake should only prescribed by professional doctors.

All About Vitamins: Vitamin B6 in Reduced Risk and Treatment of Gestational Diabetes?

By Kyle J. Norton.

Vitamin B6 may have a potential effect in controlling blood glucose and plasma insulin in pregnancy with gestational diabetes mellitus, a renowned institute study suggested.

In the study of 13 woman with gestational diabetes mellitus treated with 100 mg. of vitamin B6 per day for 2 weeks than tested with an intravenous glucose tolerance for both blood glucose and plasma insulin levels, researchers filed the following results
1. Vitamin B6 treatment induced a statistically significant improvement in the glucose tolerance in all aspects
2. Vitamin B6 group also enhanced glucose effect with unchanged or lowered plasma insulin level.

After taking into account of other factors, researchers insisted that women with a relative deficiency in vitamin B6 associated with some cases of gestational diabetes mellitus are most beneficial with replacement of this vitamin in improved the metabolic state.

Dr. Spellacy WN, the led author said, "The low vitamin B6levels appear to alter metabolic pathways which result in a lowering of the biologic activity of endogenous insulin".

More interestingly, in a study of 14 pregnant women with gestational diabetes caused by increased xanthurenic-acid synthesis during pregnancy treated with vitamin B6 (pyridoxine) 100 mg/day for 14 days by mouth resaerchers found that
1. Treatment of vitamin B6 not only reduced the deficiency but also improved glucose tolerance considerably.
2. Treatment with vitamin B6 normalized the production of xanthurenic-acid by restoring tryptophan metabolism.

Contrastively, in the investigate the potential simplicity and far-reaching benefits of the amelioration or prevention of gestational diabetes mellitus by pyridoxine, researcher showed that vitamin B6 showed no beneficial effects on abnormal glucose tolerance in pregnancy in 4 cases studied and These studies failed to confirm their results statistically significant in compared to previous studies.

Dr, Perkins RP said, the reason behind these failure may be a result of "the dietary alterations made during pyridoxine therapy in the previous report had a greater effect on outcome than the authors had suspected".

Taking altogether, vitamin B6 administration may have positive effect in reduced symptoms and treatment of gestational diabetes only to vitamin B6 deficient pregnant women. For other use of vitamin B6, particularly in gestational diabetes women without expressing vitamin B6 deficiency,  may require further confirmation of large sample sizes and cohost studies.

All About Vitamins: Vitamin B6 for Treatment of Nausea and Vomiting in Early Stage of Pregnancy

By Kyle J. Norton.

Intake of vitamin B6 in the early stage of pregnancy may have a profound effect in reduced symptoms of nausea and vomiting, a renowned study suggested.

In a comparison of the effects of quince fruit and vitamin B6 intake on symptoms of mild-to-moderate nausea and vomiting (NVP) of 76 pregnant women with a gestational age of 6-14 weeks presented (40 in the quince and 36 in the B6 group), researchers found that
1. The score of the PUQE was decreased from 8.4 at baseline to 7.3 and 7.7 on the 14th day (p < .001) in the vitamin B6 group, respectively
2. Symptoms of mild-to-moderate nausea and vomiting (NVP) also decreased in both groups, according to assay

Although vitamin B6 intake group showed a significantly reduced symptoms of mild-to-moderate nausea and vomiting in lesser effective in compared to quince (Cydonia oblonga) fruit group.
Dr. Jafari-Dehkordi E, the led researchers, due to the nature of stage of pregnancy said," Pregnancy-induced nausea and vomiting (NVP) is one of the most common problems during gestation. Treatment is mainly symptomatic, ranging from dietary changes and oral pharmacological treatment to hospitalization in severe forms. In early pregnancy, the use of chemical drugs is avoided, so there is an increasing tendency to use alternative therapies".

Additionally, in a triple blind clinical trial on pregnant women suffering mild to moderate NVP between 6 and 16 weeks of pregnancy randomized assign to ginger, 500 mg twice daily, vitamin B6 40 mg twice daily and placebo twice daily for 4 days, according to the returned questionnaire, researchers filed the following results
1. All 3 groups pisplayed a significant improvement of nausea
2. All 3 group expressed a similar reduction of vomiting but lesser effective in placebo
3. Both Ginger and vitamin B6 groups reduced the severity of all items of Rhodes questionnaire significantly but less effective in frequency of nausea, intensity of vomiting and frequency of retching in compared to placebo.
4. Ginger and vitamin B6 groups did not show significant difference in total score in Rhodes

Dr. Sharifzadeh F, after taking into account of other factors, such as age, gestational age, parity, and severity of each symptom, said, "Ginger is more effective than placebo for the treatment of mild to moderate NVP and comparable to vitamin B6".

In support of the above differentiation, the study a 126 pregnant women, with a gestational age of < or = 16 weeks who had nausea and vomiting, required anti-emetics, had no medical complication, and not hospitalized, randomly allocated to receive either 650 mg of ginger or 25 mg of vitamin B6 conducted by the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration Medical College and Vajira Hospital, researchers illustrated that
1. Ginger and vitamin B6 significantly reduced scores
2. Vitamin B6 even thought improved symptoms of nausea and vomiting, but lesser effective in compared to ginger group.
3. Side effect of both group are well tolerated.

Taking altogether, there is no doubt that vitamin B6 may be used as therateutic treatment in reduced symptoms of nausea and vomiting in early stage of pregnancy

All About Vitamins: Vitamin B6 in Reduced Symptoms of PMS

By Kyle J. Norton.

Vitamin B6 may have a profound effect in reduced symptoms and risk PMS, a joint study led by the Isfahan University of Medical Sciences suggested.

Premenstrual syndrome is defined as faulty function of the ovaries related to the women's menstrual cycle, effected over 70% to 90% of women in the US and lesser for women in Southeast Asia because of difference in living style and social structure. The syndrome also interferes women's physical and emotional states, and daily activities as a result of hormone fluctuation and occurs one to two weeks before menstruation and then declines when the period starts.

In the study of 84 students lived at the university dorm randomly selected and allocated into two groups of 42 with the first group received auriculotherapy (10 sessions) for two menstrual cycles and the second group consumed 40 mg of vitamin B6 daily from a week before their menstruation for two menstrual cycles, researchers found that group treated vitamin B6 showed a significant improvement of 22.60 and 24.17 of he mean score of symptoms in the first and second cycles in compared to auriculotherapy group of 26.70 and 24.76, respectively.

However, after taking into account of other risk factors, researchers indicated that both group expressed a ameliorated severity of symptoms of premenstrual syndrome with no difference in the pain scores.

Dr. Koleini S, the led author said, "Auriculotherapy, similar to vitamin B6, decreases the severity of PMS symptoms".
Additionally, in support of the above analysis, a study of two-stage double-blind clinical trial conducted on 126 women, selected from 10 health centers in Isfahan and lasted for 4 months,  randomly allocated into 3 groups in received magnesium, vitamin B6, or placebo  researchers showed that vitamin B6 group demonstrated a strong improvement in the mean scores of premenstrual syndrome by significantly decreased symptoms of severity.

But after taking into account of other factors, vitamin B6 showed a lesser effective in compared to magnesium intake group.

More interestingly, in a double blind randomized controlled carried out on 76 students of Hamadan University of Medical Sciences, randomly allocated to two groups. (38 people in each group) with intervention groups received calcium tablet (500mg) and vitamin B6 (40 mg) and student in intervention groups received only vitamin B6 twice a day for two consecutive months, after adjusting to other factors, researchers suggested that both groups expressed an enormous improvement in symptoms of severity but this improvement was more significant in the combined calcium and vitamin B6 group.

The information collected indicated that vitamin B6 used alone or combined with calcium or magnesium may have a positive effect in reduced symptoms of PMS.

All About Vitamins: Vitamin B6 in Iron Deficiency Anemia Pregnancy

By Kyle J. Norton.

Administration of vitamin B6 in pregnancy of women with iron deficiency may improve iron status, a National Center for Child Health and Development, Tokyo study suggested.

According to the study, generally, pregnant women with iron anemia are exclusively treated with iron supplementation, but in several women who were nonresponsive to iron supplementation may require injection of high dose of vitamin B6.

The study also found that ecen healthy pregnant women may also experience lower levels of blood levels of iron, ferritin and vitamin B6 by the third trimester in compared the nonpregnant reference range.

Dr. Hisano M, the led author said, " it is important to take into account the deficiency of vitamin B6 besides iron in the evaluation of anemiaduring pregnancy".

Other, in the study of most common form of inherited sideroblastic anemia, X-linked sideroblastic anemia (XLSA) caused by a novel mutation on the ALAS2 gene, in pregnant women suggested that in prevent side effect of high-dose vitamin B6 intake in pregnancy, low dose of pyridoxine may be necessary in the beginning than increased gradually in post-partum

Further observation, researchers also indicated  that pyridoxine supplementation injected over 3 months in iron deficient pregnancy women also displayed
1. An decreased levels of serum ferritin and
2  Normalized transferrin saturation, hemoglobin content and serum hepcidin level, and
3. Improved morphologic red cell abnormalities remarkably.

However, in the study 250 women with chronic post hemorrhagic iron deficiency anemia diagnosed in 175 patients, and 75 iron deficiency anemia, group treated with addition of iron, vitamins B12 and B6, copper sulfate and the combination of iron with the vitamin B group and copper sulfate did not show any improvement in the rate of hemoglobin, erythrocytes and serum iron in compared to non treatment groups.

Taking altogether, Vitamin B6 may play an important role in reduced complications of iron deficiency anemia pregnancy, but a large sample size and cohost study are necessary to clarify these inconclusion.

All About Vitamins: Vitamin B6 in Ameliorated Symptoms of Depression

By Kyle J. Norton.

Vitamin B6 may have a profound effect in reduced symptoms of depression, a respectably university study suggested

In the study of evaluated 140 individuals' symptoms of depression by the Major Depression Inventory, and biochemical markers of vitamin B deficiency, researchers filed the following results
1. 18 (13%) individuals were depressed. A low plasma level of PLP(v the phosphate derivative of vitamin B6 in plasma) was significantly associated with the depression score
2. Depression was not associated to other vitamin B such as plasma vitamin B12 (p=0.13), plasma methylmalonic acid (p=0.67), erythrocyte folate (p=0.77), and plasma total homocysteine (p=0.16).
ct
The study highly suggested that a low level of plasma PLP may also have a negative effect in symptoms expression.of depression.

Other, in the study of "The Effects of Vitamin B in Depression" suggested that vitamin B6 not only plays an important role in reduced symptoms of psychiatric disorders but also.required in proper functioning of the methylation cycle, monoamine oxidase production, DNA synthesis and the repair and maintenance of phospholipids.

And vitamin B6 deficiency was associated to risk of depression and exaggerated complexity of depressive symptoms.

Dr. Mikkelsen K, the led author said,"Vitamin B deficiency could influence memory function, cognitive impairment and dementia" and "deficiencies have been linked to depression".

Taking altogether, Vitamin B6 deficiency has no doubt not only reduced risk early onset of depression but also expressed a significant effect in inhibited symptoms in depressive patients

All About Vitamins: Vitamin B6 in Reduced Risk of Depression in Women

By Kyle J. Norton.

Vitamin B6 may have a profound effect in reduced risk of depression, a respectably university study suggested

The study highly suggested that a low level of plasma PLP is associated to depression and may also have elevated symptoms expression.of depression.

Additionally, in the study in comparison of  male mice weighing 25-30 g, in measured the immobility time and latency to immobility in the forced swimming test as a model of despair and the number of marbles buried (MB) in an open field used as the model of obsessive compulsive behavior in mice,
Injection of Vitamin B6 (100 mg/kg, i.p.) coadministred with clomipramine, fluoxetine, or venlafaxine. showed that
1. Vitamin B6 significantly reduced immobility when used conjunction with clomipramine (141 ± 15 s) or venlafaxine (116 ± 15 s) in compared with the drugs alone.
2. No beneficial response was seen in co-administration of vitamin B6 with fluoxetine compared to fluoxetine alone.
3. Fluoxetine also increased the latency to first immobility. Vitamin B6 + clomipramine or venlafaxine reduced the MB behaviour by 77 ± 12% and 83 ± 7% respectively

Other in the investigated participants in the Québec Longitudinal Study on Nutrition and Aging (NuAge), free of depression (that is, 30-item Geriatric Depression Scale (GDS) <11) at baseline (N=1368; 74 ± 4 years old; 50.5% women), screened annually for incidence of depression (GDS ⩾ 11) or antidepressant medication, researchers found that
1. Over 3 years, 170 participants were identified as depressed
2. Intake of the highest fertile of B6 from food is 43% less likely to become depressed after adjusting
for demographic and health factors, who experience relative odd risk ratio of 0.57 in compared to men
3. In deed, vitamin B6 intake has a non significant effect in risk of depression in men
4. Risk of depression of men increased in lower intake of vitamin B12, not B6

These findings suggested that vitamin B6 as a harmless agent may be used for treatment of depression in women, particularly in obsessive compulsive disorder as an adjuvant for better drug response.

All About Vitamins: Vitamin B5 Deficiency and Risk of Auto immunity

Kyle J. Norton

Vitamin B5 is also known as pantothenic acid, played an important role in the forming of co-enzyme A and critical in the metabolism and synthesis of carbohydrates, proteins and fat. Vitamin B5 has a chemical structure formula of C9H17NO5.

Pantothenic acid deficiency may have an implicated effect on promoted immune system in production of proinflammatroy status, a renowned institute study suggested.

In the study of vitamin D replacement slowly induced a secondary pantothenic acid deficiency with oral administration of vitamin D + B100 (100mg of all B vitamins except 100mcg of B12 and biotin and 400mcg of folate) to over 1000 neurology patients, researchers found that the vitamin D supplement reduced expression of pro inflammatry cytokins in improved sleep, reduced pain and unexpected resolution of bowel symptoms.

Vitamin D-supplement ameliorated vitamin B5 deficiency also created an intestinal environment that favors the return of the four specific species, Actinobacteria, Bacteroidetes, Firmicutes and Proteobacteria through regulating inflammation of intestinal system.

Dr. Gominak SC, also said, "... Improved sleep and more cellular repairs eventually depletes body stores of pantothenic acid, causing reduced cortisol production, increased arthritic pain and widespread "pro-inflammatory" effects on the immune system" and "Pantothenic acid deficiency also decreases available acetylcholine, the neurotransmitter used by the parasympathetic nervous system".

According to Dr. Tautt J. in the experiments carried out to test the length of time necessary to induced vitamin deficiency by removing vitamins from the diet or by giving the rabbits antibiotics of different activity spectrum when the animals kept on a diet without vitamins, said, "(observation by microbiological assay) the time after which changes in vitamin levels developed as well as the intensity of changes differ, depending on the experimental model used, but the sequence of vitamin disappearance from the organism is always the same. The first to disappear were vitamins B1, followed by vitamin B6 and pantothenic acid"

Taking altogether, vitamin B5 deficiency induced by diet deficiency or antibiotics stimulated Immune expression of pro inflammatory cytokins in various types of disease.

All About Vitamins: Vitamin B5 Improved Intestinal Bacterial Expression

By Kyle J. Norton.

Vitamin B5 is also known as pantothenic acid, played an important role in the forming of co-enzyme A and critical in the metabolism and synthesis of carbohydrates, proteins and fat. Vitamin B5 has a chemical structure formula of C9H17NO5.

Vitamin B5 deficiecy may have a negative effect in balancing the gut bacterial expression, a recent study suggested.

And, long term PA deficiency may induced weight loss or reduced growth, hair loss and exudation around the eyes, then diarrhea and hindleg paralysis and splenomegaly, and finally death.

According to Dr. Tautt J. in the experiments carried out to test the length of time necessary to induce vitamin deficiency by removing vitamins from the diet or by giving the rabbits antibiotics of different activity spectrum when the animals kept on a diet without vitamins, said, "(observation by microbiological assay) the time after which changes in vitamin levels developed as well as the intensity of changes differ, depending on the experimental model used, but the sequence of vitamin disappearance from the organism is always the same. The first to disappear were vitamins B1, followed by vitamin B6 and pantothenic acid".

Truly, in the evaluated intestinal pantothenic acid (PA) uptake in mice fed diets with high, normal and deficient PA levels researchers found that
1, Treatment of antibitics have a positive effect to reduced intestinal pantothenic acid (PA)
2. Dietary PA levels had no effect on intestinal PA uptake at 5 microM

There fore, the study postulated, " intestinal transporters may be regulated only for vitamins absorbed predominantly by carrier-mediated transport and subject to natural deficiency states."

Taking altogether, there is no doubt that vitamin B5 deficiency caused by environment ethanol and intake of antibiotics may have a significant effect in over exhibition of bacterial expression in  inducing intestinal disorder,

All About Vitamins: Vitamin B5 on implication of Brain Acetylcholine

By Kyle J. Norton.

Vitamin B5 is also known as pantothenic acid, played an important role in the forming of co-enzyme A and critical in the metabolism and synthesis of carbohydrates, proteins and fat. Vitamin B5 has a chemical structure formula of C9H17NO5.

Pantothenic acid may have a profound effect in improved brain activities through influencing function of acetylcholine, neurotransmitter.

Acetylcholine as a neurotransmitter, is a chemical released by nerve cells to send signals to other cells.

In a study to measure brain acetylcholine (ACh) synthesis from precursor [14C]-pyruvate, pantothenic acid (PA) concentration in the brain of rats treated with either ethanol (5-6 g kg-1 body wt daily) alone or ethanol with PA supplementation (100-200 mg kg-1 body wt daily), researchers found that chronic ethanol exposure in rats showed a significant decreased ACh synthesis caused by depleting PA, in negated function of neurotransmitters induced by acetylcholine (ACh).

Other, in the compared 3 studies of rats fed Lieber-DeCarli formula diet with either 5% ethanol or maltose-dextrin (controls) for 19-36 d, researchers filed the following reports
1. The heart pantothenate levels of ethanol-fed rats were 51-78% in compared to control
2. The heart total CoA levels, the precursor of vitamin B5 of ethanol-fed rats were 78-90% in compared to  controls.
3. Liver total CoA and pantothenate levels were lower in ethanol-fed rats than in controls in one and two studies,
4. Rats fed with 0.5-2.5 g ethanol/kg body weight, showed an acute effect of ethanol on pantothenate conversion to CoA in liver.

The result implicated an important result of environment ethanol in reduced levels of brain acetylcholine (ACh) and Total coenzyme A (CoA), thus attenuating brain function in regulating in arousal, attention, memory and motivation.
Taking altogether, there is no doubt that exposure to environment ethanol may have a negative effect the function of motor neurons release  in order to activate muscles in nervous system

All About Vitamins: Vitamin B5(Pantothenic acid) in Reduced Risk Of Non Alcoholic Liver Disease?

By Kyle J. Norton

Vitamin B5 is also known as pantothenic acid, played an important role in the forming of co-enzyme A and critical in the metabolism and synthesis of carbohydrates, proteins and fat. Vitamin B5 has a chemical structure formula of C9H17NO5

Vitamin B5 deficiency may have a significant effect in Risk Of Non Alcoholic Liver Disease, a respectable institute study suggested.

In the evaluated methionine-choline deficient (MCD) and Western diet mouse models of NASH, with MCD diet-fed mice treated with pantothenate and N-acetylcysteine or placebo, researcher at the joint study lead by the Duke University Medical Center, suggested that treatment with pantothenate and N-acetylcysteine did not inhibit caspase-2 activation, improve NASH, normalize PANK expression, or restore free CoA levels in MCD diet-fed mice evn though antothenic acid (PaA) is a vitamin fromed an integral part of coenzyme A (CoA).

The result indicated that Pantothenic acid have a insignificant effect in reduced risk and treatment of Nonalcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD).

Contrast to the above differentiation, the university of Shiga Prefecture study of PaA deficiency in increased risk of accumulation of tissue fats, with Weaning rats fed the PaA-free diet for 30 d. Rats, then divided into two groups. One group was continuously fed the PaA-free diet, and the other was fed the PaA-containing diet for an additional 13 d, reported the following results
1. Fat accumulated by consuming the PaA-free diet for 30 d was decreased by consuming the PaA-containing diet for an additional 13 d.
2. PaA-free diet feeding elicited much greater accumulation of liver, perinephric, and plasma fats.
3.. Administration of PaA expressed a strong effect in decreased accumulated fat.

Dr. Shibata K, the lead author said, "PaA deficiency causes fat accumulation, and re administration of PaA decreases the tissue fat in rats fed the pantothenic acid-free diet".

Furthermore, in the evaluated mice lacking mitochondrial 3-hydroxymethylglutaryl CoA synthase (HMGCS2) to determine the role of ketogenesis in preventing diet-induced steatohepatitis, researchers showd that intake of supplementation of the CoASH precursors pantothenic acid and cysteine normalized TCA intermediates and gluconeogenesis in the liver, resulting in ameliorately hepatocyte injury and inflammation, decreased glycemia,.......

In regard to the information collected, further cohost and large sample size studies are necessary to confirm either ways.

All About Vitamins: Vitamin B5(Pantothenic acid) Deficiency in Risk Of Osteoarthritis

By Kyle J. Norton.

Vitamin B5 is also known as pantothenic acid, played an important role in the forming of co-enzyme A and critical in the metabolism and synthesis of carbohydrates, proteins and fat. Vitamin B5 has a chemical structure formula of C9H17NO5.

Pantothenic acid deficiency may be associated to risk of osteoarthritis, a study by renowned institute suggested.

In the study of 77 osteoarthritis patients assessed biweekly for 12 weeks as part of a multidisciplinary approach to the management of osteoarthritis, nutrient information and food frequency questionnaire returned by patients, showed a significantly correlated between obesity pain from osteoarthritis and vitamins deficiency, particularly vitamin B5.

According to the study, obese osteoarthritis patients may benefit from weight loss if meal were chosen with care to include nutrients in which they are deficient.

Dr. White-O'Connor B, the lead author said, " In addition to providing nutritional recommendations to avoid dietary deficiencies, a registered dietitian can assist in the multidisciplinary treatment of osteoarthritis by providing weight-control counseling and follow-up".

In deed, further differentiation showed that  dietary intake of these group of patients were below 80% of pantothenic acid, the recommended dietary allowance daily.

Other, in the study of vitamin therapy in the absence of obvious deficiency opinionated that deficiency of vitamin may lead to a specific deficiency syndrome, which may be primary (due to inadequate diet) or secondary (due to malabsorption or to increased metabolic need), and it is rational to use high-dose vitamin supplementation in situations where these clinical conditions exist and vitamin B5 deficiency is associated to increased risk and progression of osteoarthritis.

Dr. Ovesen L. said, "Most of the vitamins have been reported to cause adverse effects when ingested in excessive doses" and "therefore worthwhile to consider the risk-benefit ratio before embarking upon the use of high-dose vitamin supplementation for disorders were proof of efficacy is lacking".

Taking altogether, vitamin B5 deficiency may be one of major factor in increased incidence and progression of osteoarthritis, therefore intake of supplement may be necessary but please consult with your doctor before applying in large doses.

All About Vitamins: Vitamin B5(Pantothenic acid) Deficiency in Risk Of Hypertension

By Kyle J. Norton.

Vitamin B5 is also known as pantothenic acid, played an important role in the forming of co-enzyme A and critical in the metabolism and synthesis of carbohydrates, proteins and fat. Vitamin B5 has a chemical structure formula of C9H17NO5.

Vitamin B5 deficiency may have a profound and positive effect in promoted hypertension, an Asian study postulated.

In the study of endemic pantothenic acid deficiency of some Japanese populations and risk of increased occurrence of hypertension suggested that pantothenic acid deficiency is a factor in the experimental origin of hypertension due to adrenal regeneration, but in most cases, blood samples observations of vitamin B5 expression have largely been ignored.

Dr. Schwabedal PE, ignorance of vitamin B5 deficiency may put many patient of these group at risk of cardiovascular disease due to undiscovered of high blood pressure, one of risk factors of CVD incidence.

Other, in the examined 171 patients with hypertension and coronary heart disease, researchers found that there are association between vitamin decreased as the disease progressed and heart failure supervened.

More interestingly, in the study of Vitamin D and B100 oral administration to 1000 neurology patients with sleep characteristics, pain levels, neurologic symptoms, and bowel complaints were recorded by the author at routine appointments, researchers indicated that oral administrated group showed to improve sleep and more cellular repairs eventually depletes body stores of pantothenic acid, causing reduced cortisol production, and increased sympathetic tone in produced hypertension  and a "hyper-adrenergic" state known to predispose to heart disease and stroke.

Taking together, vitamin B5 deficiency may have a profound effect in increased risk of hypertension, a major risk factor of CVD development.

All About Vitamins: Vitamin B5(pantothenic acid) and Oral Contraceptive

By Kyle J. Norton.

Vitamin B5 is also known as pantothenic acid, played an important role in the forming of co-enzyme A and critical in the metabolism and synthesis of carbohydrates, proteins and fat. Vitamin B5 has a chemical structure formula of C9H17NO5.

Women, using oral contraceptives agents may have a profound effect in reduced pantothenic acid levels during menstrual cycle, a study by renowned institute suggested.

In a total of 13 young women, ages 19-25, at the beginning and end of a 12-day confined study. 9 women using (+OCA) oral contraceptives and the other 4 were not (-OCA), entered the metabolic unit during the 1st week of their menstrual cycle and fed a constant formula diet containing 2.0 mg thiamin, 3.0 mg riboflavin, and 10 mg pantothenic acid then from 3-day dietary records, subjects were fed with 1/2 of the thiamin, riboflavin, and pantothenic acid levels, researchers found that in compared to the blood urine collected at the beginning, groups treated with +OCA group showed a significantly lower than the -OCA group.

Dr. Lewis CM, the lead author said, "At the beginning of the study, blood and urine pantothenic acid levels were significantly lower in the +OCA group than the -OCA group. These differences were no longer evident by the end of the study".

The expression showed some effects of oral contraceptive in influence to levels of pantothenic acid, but this effect can be controllable through intake of vitamin B5 rich diet during menstrual cycle.

All About Vitamins: Vitamin B5 (Pantothenic acid) Promoted Integrity of Skin Tissue with Less Scar Formation

By Kyle J. Norton.

Vitamin B5 is also known as pantothenic acid, played an important role in the forming of co-enzyme A and critical in the metabolism and synthesis of carbohydrates, proteins and fat. Vitamin B5 has a chemical structure formula of C9H17NO5.

Pantothenic acid  may have a profound effect in promotion of skin tissues including collagen in fibroblasts, a recent study by respectable institute suggested.

According to study by the Tohoku University, pantothenic acid topical administration showed a significant benefit in moisturization of the skin tissues. Deficiency of the vitamin may affect skin function in maintaining the structural integrity of the connective tissue.

In fact, the study also found that pantothenic acid depletion decreased the synthesis of keratinocyte growth factor in speedup wound healing and reduced skin tissue integration.

Noscarna, a reduced scar appearance commercial product, included vitamin B5 derivative, applied to hypertrophic scars in the rabbit ear model. showed a enormous improvements of scar healing and skin pigment in compared to non treatment group.

Truly, according to the study, the efficacy of the production in reduced scar forming is attributed to many mechanisms, including a significant reduction in scar elevation index, anterior skin and epithelial thicknesses, inflammatory cells, vessels, collagen disorganization and fibroblasts.

Dr. Lee DW , the lead author said, "(The promotion of reduced scar forming of ) Noscarn showed more favorable effects on hypertrophic scars than a commercial product, Contractubex".

More interesting, in the support of the above analysis, Dr.Ebner F postulated , " The topical use of dexpanthenol, the stable alcoholic analog of pantothenic acid, is based on good skinpenetration and high local concentrations of dexpanthenol when administered in an adequate vehicle, such as water-in-oil emulsions. Topical dexpanthenol acts like a moisturizer, improving stratum corneum hydration, reducing transepidermal water loss and maintaining skin softness and elasticity. Activation of fibroblast proliferation, which is of relevance in wound healing, has been observed both in vitro and in vivo with dexpanthenol".

According to the study, topical use of dexpanthenol in skin disorders, after 3 - 4 weeks, expressed considerably improvement of skin irritation, such as dryness of the skin, roughness, scaling, pruritus, erythema, erosion/fissures.

Taking altogether, there is no doubt that vitamin B5 may be considered as an topical ingredient used in cosmetic care for treatment of speedup skin healing with less scar formation.

All About Vitamins: Pantothenic acid in Neuro Degenerative Risk

By Kyle J. Norton.

Vitamin B5 is also known as pantothenic acid, played an important role in the forming of co-enzyme A and critical in the metabolism and synthesis of carbohydrates, proteins and fat. Vitamin B5 has a chemical structure formula of C9H17NO5.

Deprivation of pantothenic acid (PA; vitamin B5) may associate to the early onset of neurodegenerative disease, a study bu renowned university suggested.

In a study of Wild-type and Pank2 mutant mice fed pantothenic acid-deficient diets monitored for general health, fertility and movement and compared with animals on control diets over time, showed a significant effect in manifested azoospermia (a phenotype also seen in Pank2 mice) and exhibited movement disorder with a low-lying pelvis and slow steps.

Mice fed with vitamin B5 deficit diet also effect the physical movement of the limbs caused by muscular spasm and abnormal posture in both mice groups.

According to the University of California, the result of the testing indicated that vitamin B5 deficiency may express the similar expression in neuro degernerative effect as seen in the inherited neurological disorder PKAN (pantothenate kinase-associated neurodegeneration formerly called Hallervorden-Spatz syndrome)

Further more, in the study of a mouse knock-out of the orthologous murine gene (Pank2) to enhance the understanding of the mechanisms of disease and serve as a testing ground for therapies, researchers found that overtime, murine mice manifest retinal degeneration,   progressive photoreceptor decline, decreased cell number and disruption of the outer segment and reduced pupillary constriction response.

More interestingly, in compared to wild type, experiment mice showed a significantly ameliorated fertility in displayed a condition of no sperm semen.

The reduced fertility and physical move and retinal degeneration caused by vitamin B5 deficiency
demonstrated a similarity to in the inherited neurological disorder PKAN (pantothenate kinase-associated neurodegeneration formerly called Hallervorden-Spatz syndrome) cause ofvitamin B5 deficit, therefore, vitamin B5 may be considered as a therapeutic supplemnt in reduced risk neuro degenerative disease caused by acute vitamin B5 deficiency individuals.

All About Vitamins: Pantothenic Acid in Hair Thickening

By Kyle J. Norton.
Vitamin B5 is also known as pantothenic acid, played an important role in the forming of co-enzyme A and critical in the metabolism and synthesis of carbohydrates, proteins and fat. Vitamin B5 has a chemical structure formula of C9H17NO5.

Vitamin B5 used combination with other ingredients may have a potential effect in protected against hair loss and treatment of hair thinning, a renowned institute study suggested.

In the study to examine the growth and quality of hair after treatment with Pantogar, another prescription (Verum-2) and placebo for four months in 60 patients with diffuse effluvium capillorum and agnogenic structural alternations of hair, group treated with Pantogar, a formula including vitamin B5 as a main ingredients, demonstrated not only improvement of quality of hair and but also reduced the retarded hair loss in compared to other groups.

More importantly, application of Pantogar were well tolerance and adverse effects could not be substantiate.

Other in the study of the ability of a novel leave-on technology combination of caffeine, niacinamide, panthenol, dimethicone and an acrylate polymer (CNPDA), showed a significant effect in thicken the hair growth in the applied area as well as increased suppleness/pliability (decreased shear modulus) and better ability to withstand force without breaking (increased break stress).

Dr, Davis MG, the lead author said, "significantly increased the diameter of individual, existing terminal scalp hair fibres by 2-5 μm, which yields an increase in the cross-sectional area of approximately 10%. Beyond the diameter increase"

The astonished result from the cosmetic treatments, may have a therapeutic effect in hair thinning individuals, but can not reverse the condition of hair loss.

Taking altogether, vitamin B5 may be considered as hair thicken ingredient used combination with with other agent for reduced risk of hair loss caused by hair thinning individuals. It is recommended that you consult your doctor before applying.

All About Vitamins: Vitamin B5 (Pantothenic acid) in Reduced Risk and Treatment of Acne

By Kyle J. Norton.

Vitamin B5 is also known as pantothenic acid, played an important role in the forming of co-enzyme A and critical in the metabolism and synthesis of carbohydrates, proteins and fat. Vitamin B5 has a chemical structure formula of C9H17NO5.

Pantothenic acid may have a profound effect in reduced risk and treatment in acne, according to the renowned institute study.

In a randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled study of adults previously diagnosed with mild to moderate acne vulgaris randomized to application of pantothenic acid-based dietary supplement, or a placebo for 12 weeks (endpoint), group treated pantothenic acid-based dietary supplement with showed a significant mean reduction in total lesion count in compared to placebo at week 12.

According to the Global Assessment and Dermatology Life Quality Index (DLQI) scores, pantothenic acid-based dietary supplement group scored a higher expression in a reduced effect in facial skin inflammation as well.

In fact and more precisely, the application showed a significantly reduced area-specific with acne and inflammatory blemishes.

Dr. Yang M, the lead researchers said, "Administration of a pantothenic acid-based dietary supplement in healthy adults with facial acne lesions is safe, well tolerated and reduced total facial lesion count versus placebo after 12 weeks of administration".

Other researchers also expressed  a concern of acne besides caused by hormone factors, it may also be induced in person with vitamin B5 deficiency.

Dr. Leung LH, said, "a radically different theory for its pathogenesis and relate its basic pathology to a deficiency in pantothenic acid, a vitamin hitherto not known to cause any deficiency syndrome in humans. Hence, the effect of hormonal factors in this disease entity becomes secondary to that of the availability of pantothenic acid".

Taking altogether, there is no doubt that vitamin B5 have a therapeutic effect in reduced risk and treatment of acne vulgaris, particular in patients with pantothenic acid deficiency.

All About Vitamins: Vitamin B5 and Weight loss

By Kyle J. Norton.

Vitamin B5 is also known as pantothenic acid, played an important role in the forming of co-enzyme A and critical in the metabolism and synthesis of carbohydrates, proteins and fat. Vitamin B5 has a chemical structure formula of C9H17NO5.

The prevalence of extreme overweight and obesity has caused concerns of scientific community. According to the statistic, approximately, over 68% of US population are either overweight or obese. Intake of vitamin B5 supplement may have a potential effect in induced weight loss, according to the study by the Hong Kong Central Hospital.

Intake of vitamin b5 may relieve weigh watchers against sensation of hunger and temptation of fasting through providing sufficient amount of energy released from storage fat.

Dr Leung LH, the author of the study suggested, "Supplementation of this vitamin would facilitate complete catabolism of fatty acids and thus the formation of ketone bodies could be circumvented" and "using this method for weight reduction together with a careful observation of calorie intake, I have great success in treating overweight-to-obese patients to lose weight".

Other study in support above differentiation in different way, in a study of libitum or pair-feeding of 3- or 6-wk-old rats in compared to rats fed purified diets supplemented with 0 to 1600 mg pantothenate per kilogram of diet with blood sampling from 3 to 24 h after feeding, vitamin B5 deficiency mice displayed a insignificant of weight loss but elevated serum triglyceride and free fatty acid levels in compared to non deficiency groups.

But Wittwer CT, the lead author said, "Mild pantothenate deficiency appears to have observable in vivo effects on triglyceride metabolism before severe deficiency causes significant weight loss".

Taking together, there is no doubt that vitamin B5 deficiency is associated to weight loss involuntary. People who would like to use vitamin B5 supplement as a weight loss supplement should consult with their doctor before applying.

All About Vitamins: Vitamin B5(Pantothenic acid) in Wound Healing Processes

By Kyle J. Norton.

Vitamin B5 is also known as pantothenic acid, played an important role in the forming of co-enzyme A and critical in the metabolism and synthesis of carbohydrates, proteins and fat. Vitamin B5 has a chemical structure formula of C9H17NO5.

Would healing is the natural process of the body in protection against infection, inflammation and further injure to the damage of the original site.

Intake of itamin B5(Pantothenic acid) may have a potential effect in speedup would healing after injure, a hospital study suggested.

According to the INSERM Unité 61-Service de Chirurgie B, Hôpital Civil, application of combined pantothenic acid (PA) and ascorbic acid (AA) exhibited speed of wound healing processes through stimulated the growth of fibroblasts, in human fetal skin or foreskin.

Dr. Lacroix B, the lead author said, "When cultures were incubated with PA and AA, the release of intracellular protein into the culture medium increased."

The expression of combination showed a significant would healing through increased production of protein in regulation intracellular differentiation.

Additionally, in the study of PA (40 micrograms/ml) added to the basal culture medium, vitamin B5 displayed a significant increase of cell proliferation by thymidine Incorporation Assay and involved in stimulated secretion of intracellular protein synthesis in production of fibroblast in cell cultures.
without inducing a release of other proteins which is important as would healing have caused Therefore, in treating wounded patients in prevent substantial loss of protein during the process,  protein diet is most recommended.

Taking together, there is not doubt that vitamin B5 have a therapeutic effect in wound healing process in exhibited production of  fibroblast through stimulated secretion of intracellular protein.
